Beatriz Kaysel

SCENOGRAPHY AND LIGHT

Trained in architecture and urbanism at the University of São Paulo, then holding a Master’s degree in scenography from the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture in Marseille, as well as mime at the EIMCD (École Internationale de Mime Corporel Dramatique) in Montreuil, Bia Kaysel has developed a multidisciplinary practice spanning scenography, performance, lighting design, and technical direction.

General stage manager at Mains d’Œuvres from 2016 to 2020, they are now an independent artist. Among the artists they have collaborated with as a lighting designer and scenographer are Nadia Beugré (since 2021), Nina Santes (from 2019 to 2023), Calixto Neto (2021-2025), Ana Pi (since 2021) as well as Robyn Orlin (since 2022) and Tatiana Julien (since 2024) among others.

Currently, Bia Kaysel is co-directing the project Diaspora with Soa de Muse, while pursuing their own artistic research in non-dedicated spaces and urban peripheries.
