Christelle Ehoué
PERFORMANCE
Christelle Ehoué (b. 2000) is known by the nickname "Gros camion" ("big truck"), a moniker she has adopted, which references her physical stature.
Born and raised in Abobo-Abidjan, Christelle starts dancing at the age of 8 in the streets and at small neighbourhood parties, then in Wozo, a very popular summer variety show in Côte d'Ivoire.
She began a musical career that was cut short by her father's death, after which she returned to school until her final year. She later focused on dance, performing with Ivorian singers and entering competitions like Babi Dance Battle, Varietoscope, and Abobo Show.
In June 2021, she she was selected as one of four dancers for Nadia Beugré’s Carte Blanche to the Théâtre de la Ville, as part of the Festival d'Automne in Paris.
In the framework of the training programme Entr'Ailes implemented by Libr’Arts in Abidjan, she has been following workshops by Nadia Beugré, Nina Kipré, Ibrahim Goboue Guetissi, Volmir Cordeiro and Hanna Hedmann, while receiving puppetry training from Ivoire Marionnettes.
In 2024, she completed a 3-week teaching residency at ICI CCN de Montpellier as part of the exerce MA.
Filles-Pétroles, her first collaboration with Nadia Beugré, has been touring in Europe since 2023, including France, Belgium, Germany and Italy.
